Preußen Münster has confirmed relegation to the 3rd league after a 1:1 draw against Darmstadt 98. The team, managed by Alois Schwartz, could not secure a win in their home game on Sunday and thus has no chance of survival as the bottom team on the final matchday. After two years in the 2nd Bundesliga, the club is returning to the 3rd league. Last season, Preußen Münster managed to stay in the league, finishing 15th. In the summer, Alexander Ende was appointed as the new coach, but the hoped-for turnaround did not materialize. Under Ende's successor Schwartz, the team remained winless in their sixth league match. Shin Yamada initially put Münster ahead with an early goal in the 8th minute, but Isac Lidberg equalized in the 15th minute, quickly putting survival hopes in jeopardy. Captain Jorrit Hendrix received a red card in the 28th minute for a foul, leaving Darmstadt in control of the game. Preußen Münster must now face the consequences of this season and prepare for the upcoming campaign in the 3rd league.
