Preußen Münster kicks off the new season on August 1 with a double header against Southampton FC and Viktoria Hamburg, celebrating the 100th anniversary of their stadium. The Schwarz-Weiß-Grünen will play two exciting games in one day. As a high-profile opponent, the team of head coach Thomas Wörle will face the English second-tier club Southampton FC at 15:00 in the general rehearsal. The Saints are one of the most traditional clubs on the island and achieved their greatest success to date with the FA Cup win in 1976. With Caspar Jander, they even have a genuine Münsteraner in their ranks. The talented midfielder comes from the Preußen youth team and moved to Southampton in the summer for a transfer fee of 12 million euros. As soon as this game is over, the U23 of the Adlerträger will play a test match against the Oberliga club Viktoria Hamburg. A historic duel that began on June 12, 1926, with the first Preußen opponent in the then brand-new stadium on Hammer Straße. The Preußen are listed with 17.53 million euros, while Southampton has a market value of 185.05 million euros. Midfielder Oliver Batista-Meier has successfully completed his medical check at SC Paderborn and will receive a three-year contract. Paderborn will also officially announce the transfer soon.
